Technical Information for Free Symbol Patterns

Our symbol pattern files are saved in Adobe Illustrator CS EPS format. You will be able to open the files themselves if you own Adobe Illustrator.

If you do not own Adobe Illustrator, you may view and print the files by opening or importing them in other applications:

MS Word

Open Word and select Insert>Picture>From File..., then locate the pattern file and click Insert.

Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements

Open Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and select File>Open. Locate the pattern file and click Open. Change the width or height and resolution as appropriate and click OK.

Adobe PageMaker or InDesign

Open PageMaker or InDesign and create a new document. Select File>Place, locate the pattern file and click Place. Click anywhere in the document to place the file.

You may also wish to download one of many graphic converter programs available as freeware or shareware on the Internet to convert the EPS files to another format you find more convenient to work with. Macintosh users might check here:

Windows users may wish to start here:

If none of these options works for you, you may wish to purchase a CD containing all of our images – now more than 340 – in both EPS and JPG format. If so, please reply for purchase information.
